Vincent Sprüngli is among the world´s most skilled paragliding pilots. He choosed U-Turn in firm convinction as his glider for clear reasons: “I want performance and safety simultaneously.” Please find out more about this sportsman:
“I'm born in 1964 in Annecy in the French North alps, and all my free time in my youth was hiking and skiiing with my parents. I began to climb when I was 18 years old with my father and I never stopped this activity. I´m absolutely convinced that you can´t find anywhere a deeper friendship in mutual respect between two or more guys while climbing. Early I was very interesting in flying, but it had to be something light and easy and quickly to prepare. Paragliding is this sport, and I started it when I was 24 years old at the French Alpine Club. With few gear, you can feel the freedom, and this in harmony with nature and always respecting the wilderness spots you cross.
I like to open news routes all over the world. Try to find a new mountain, a new route, search and find a solution to arrive at the top. It is the same while flying: I often imagine flights in new areas, and I then want to realize them. In flying it is important never to lose your humility when you´re high in the sky with your little glider. I like to imagine and to do big distance. Cross-Country is my best feeling in flight. But it's a big pleasure to climb a mountain and to go back in the valley through the air. To travel only by flying or walking is a big and very interesting experience, too. It's the reason I think that the X-alps competition is one off the biggest physical and mental experiences I ever did.
My dreams? To fly 300 km with my U-Turn-Gliders, go and back, in X-Country.
Try again to do the in the Xalps and arriving in Monaco. Climb a lot with all my friends. And the most important: Take long and great and beautiful time with my little family. Why I choose U-turn? I know Ernst Strobl since 1993. We were together in the UP team. For me he is one of the absolutely leading designer. I' m sure that I can design with him those gliders what I want: Safety and tremendous performance simultaneously.
